The Erpob is a traditional neck-wrap or shoulder scarf, primarily used by Mising men and women for both fashion and warmth.
Dimensions: Rectangular shape, typically measuring around 1.5 to 2 meters in length and 20 to 30 cm in width.
Material: Hand-woven from high-quality cotton or wool using traditional throw-shuttle or loin looms.
Design Motifs: The stripes and borders often contain intricate geometric, floral, and star-shaped butties (motifs).
The Karbi Poho is a traditional handwoven headgear and scarf worn by men of the Karbi community in Assam, India.
Dimensions: Typically handwoven with a standard length of about 155 cm and a width of approximately 18 cm.
Material: It is primarily handcrafted from natural, locally grown cotton or Eri silk. Modern variations frequently use mercerized cotton, and commercially woven options may incorporate blends like viscose rayon or acrylic.
